The Pattern of Senate Obstruction Continues...

So, John Bolton gets Bush's nod for the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations slot and Senate Democrats are already queuing up to obstruct his nomination. Why am I not surprised? The only reason, it seems, is because Bolton has been critical of the UN in the past. Clearly, the Dems would rather have a pro-UN Easter Bunny pol like Jimmy Carter serving as UN ambassador. But since the UN has demonstrated it's inability to function under it's own mandate (Rwanda, Oil-For-Food corruption, despicable conduct in the Congo, etc.), having someone critical of that body serve as ambassador only makes sense. The Dems should simply think of it as 'oversight'.
